Routine dental care
Is brushing your teeth daily enough for good dental care?
Since childhood, we are taught to brush our teeth daily to remove the bacteria on teeth surfaces, also known as dental plaque. However, brushing your teeth alone cannot clean your teeth thoroughly. Only the outer, inner and occlusal surfaces of your teeth are cleaned this way, and the dental plaque that accumulates between your teeth over interproximal surfaces is not reached. This can lead to dental problems such as tooth decay and periodontal disease. Therefore, we also recommend using dental floss.
How often do I need a dental check-up?
Many people think that their teeth are healthy as long as they don't have a toothache, but this is not true. Dentists recommend routine dental examinations and scalings every 6 months. Regular dental check-ups can help in maintaining good dental health, and if you have severe periodontal disease, a high caries rate, or an immunosuppressive condition, more frequent consultations and treatments will be needed.
General Services
Conrad Dental Care Centre provides comprehensive dental treatments according to your dental needs.
Oral Examination
Comprehensive oral examinations to assess dental health, including the health of teeth, gum, jaw, temporomandibular joint and oral tissues, to assess the dental condition and help to prevent or treat caries, gingivitis, periodontitis, oral ulcers and any other oral diseases.
X-Ray Examination
X-Ray and CT scan examinations can help dentists interpret their patients’ dental condition, including identifying any caries, teeth wearing, bone condition, etc, so as to formulate a suitable treatment plan.
Scaling and Polishing
We provide ultrasonic teeth cleaning treatment. With the use of high-frequency vibrations combined with a water spray, teeth can be cleaned effectively with comfort.
Tooth Restoration
Decayed areas are first cleaned by the dentist, followed by restoration with dental filling materials to restore the appearance and function of the tooth. Different filling materials have different characteristics, and the dentist will choose the most suitable filling material according to your dental condition.
Bruxism / Teeth Grinding
Bruxism can cause extensive teeth wearing and damage to tooth structures. Mouthguards can be made by our dentists for teeth protection. Jaw exercises are also useful for pain relief and muscle relaxation.
Root Canal Treatment / Endodontic Treatment
When the tooth pulp is infected or becomes necrotic due to dental caries, trauma or periodontal disease, it may lead to toothache or even abscess with pus discharge. Root Canal Treatment is needed for elimination of infection and pain, while the tooth is well maintained.
Periodontal Treatment
After proper diagnosis by our dentist, patients with moderate to severe periodontal disease may need to undergo deep dental cleaning, including root planing or periodontal surgery to remove all the deeply hidden subgingival plaque and calculus over teeth roots.
Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJD) Treatment
Clicking, limitation or pain during mouth opening or closing, dislocated joint or locked jaw, swelling etc, all can be diagnosed by our dentists so that treatment can be provided accordingly.
Paediatric Dentistry
We provide dental examinations and treatments to children, as well as give them oral hygiene instructions to help them develop good dental care habits and prevent future dental problems.

Frequently Asked Questions
Regular dental examination is good for maintaining your dental health. If you have any enquiries, please feel free to contact us directly.
X-rays are recommended for better diagnosis and treatment planning for your dental condition, as they can be used to reveal different dental problems, such as teeth caries, periodontal conditions or bony pathology. The radiation dosage from our dental X-rays is very low, about the same as is naturally received, and the impact on patients is extremely low.
Nowadays, most available toothpastes contain fluoride, which can help strengthen and protect teeth enamel. Desensitizing toothpaste can be chosen instead if you have sensitive teeth. For your toothbrush, choose one with a soft bristle and small head to facilitate better tooth surface adaptation and to avoid abrasion of enamel and gum. Toothbrushes with hard bristles will cause enamel wearing and gum recession, exposing the teeth roots, leading to tooth sensitivity. In severe cases, this may cause exposure of dental pulp with inflammation.
After each meal, the bacteria in the dental plaque will decompose the sugar in the food and produce acid, which will lower the pH in the mouth. When the pH level in the mouth drops below pH5.5, the minerals on the tooth surface will start to be lost. Saliva can neutralize acid and replace lost minerals, but this process takes about 30 minutes. If you eat frequently, the pH level in the mouth will remain at a low level, and the saliva will not have enough time to repair, and the minerals on the tooth surface will continue to be lost, eventually forming tooth decay.
Every time you eat, your teeth will be attacked by acid. Saliva can help neutralize the acid, but rinsing your mouth cannot replace the function of saliva. Therefore, rinsing your mouth after eating will not reduce the chance of tooth decay. To prevent tooth decay, you must reduce the frequency of eating and drinking.
